GANESHA ABSOLUTE

A series of menifestation of INDIAN DEITY-lord ganesha. These paintings were no residue of any religious upbringing.. they were showing up in shadows, scribblings, mediation... since days... then when i sat with my charcoals every day so many sketches whould surge to come out.. putting them on canvass was a conscious descision though, after which they had a journey of their own.. every changing until at one point they freezed. The titles of paintings will tell u the virtues and aspects of the DEITY!

Art to me is an experience of the self…Self is the omnipresent power that exists within this body and everywhere the experience of which is always mystical and profound.

Making Art is willingness to be with one self at all times, in every manner possible, willingness to be with, willingness to concentrate, to forget about everything to stop the process of anticipating, to concentrate on substance that is real, that is Life-
to concentrate on

Knowledge Absolute,      Bliss Absolute,       Existence Absolute!

In my paintings, the knowledge, bliss and existence takes a form- GANESHA ABSOLUTE

The paintings are linear drawings of Lord Ganesha rendered in a play of colours, texture, layers and rhythm with an occasional glimpse of light and shade!

Ganesha- The elephant God... embodiment of knowledge, remover of obstacles and a form so liquid in nature that-
-the Lord's form just took the shape of whatever space it was being worked on.

The paintings have been done on canvass and mount boards with texturing, layering, scraping, painting, re-layering, connecting flow, composition and tone to the basic linear drawing, so as to capture the character of the form Ganesha more casually.

With a belief so accepted and a form of God so worshiped the mind definitely connects to a collective consciousness the influence of which can be seen in a painting or two.

Two linear drawings by my son who is 2.5 years old have also been worked up on. Ganesha surely were manifesting in my lines as well as his!

My humble gratitude to Lord Ganesha and everyone who taught me art, my mother, my teacher Meena Kamani, artist Mr. Avinash Thakkar (Rajkot) and Ms. Deepali Patkar (Mumbai).

It's about 9 years of constant learning and practicing art which now comes together in this debut show. Hope the journey takes you to a visual treat of- Ganesha the Absolute.

Please come with me to this immense ocean of divine virtues!

All Art is my orginal work and is available for acquisition.
